How Venue Selection Works
Under California Code of Civil Procedure § 395, a Song-Beverly action may be filed in:
- The county where the consumer resides
- The county where the vehicle was purchased
- The county where the manufacturer (or its agent for service) does business
Venue affects jury pool, case calendar, and motion practice. McMillan Law Group selects venue strategically — sometimes the consumer’s home county is best; sometimes a faster-calendar venue produces an earlier trial date that pressures settlement.
